Envato quietly shut down the Envato Elements WordPress plugin on August 21, 2025 and a lot of people didnāt see it coming.
In a help-center post, they said all Envato extensions across platforms were discontinued. It was framed as an experiment that worked for a while but needed more investment than they wanted to put in. Reading between the lines, theyāre clearly betting elsewhere now.
The plugin page now shows it as permanently closed on WordPress.org, removed at the authorās request, and no longer available for download:

Interesting that Elements is also affected, although it seemed to be the most important project for them for a long time. I guess they are focusing fully on AI now.
Who caresā¦
I think we were the last serious authors that tried to save somethingā¦ en ended up on a completely new marketplace, this kinda say how bad Envato failed us!
Envato is a sinking ship, as I said, I expect to close the marketplaces in some form in the near future and squeeze Elements for as long as possibleā¦ then move on to f*uk up some other company, I am referring to the CEO [

About AI what exactly can they do, even companies that are createing AI have serious issue to get revenueā¦ this is so stupid, the only way they can make money from AI is to āsellā all that authors created to train the models and I have a feeling thy already did this including our files without our permissionā¦
