Envato July 1st changes: authors are already reacting

Hi everyone,

I did some research around Envato’s upcoming author changes, because this change impacts a lot plugin and theme developers from Envato.

So, from July 1st, 2026, Envato is changing the commission model, 50% instead of 12.5%…

I looked around to see which authors are already mentioning this publicly on item pages or blogs. Here are some examples I found:

• Justified Image Grid by Firsh mentions a price increase from July 1st because of the Envato author revenue-share change.
• Sngine by Zamblek also wrote about the Envato changes and announced price increases
• Koble by nutzumi has a price update notice mentioning the marketplace revenue-share changes.
• I also found notices on several WordPress themes by TreeThemes: Maple, Pine, Rhythm, Resonance
• There is also SNIP - Structured Data & Schema WordPress Plugin, which announced that the product/service is ending on July 1st, 2026
• WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder
• Palleon
• XplodedThemes
• Security Ninja

I think more examples will come in the next period… as most of the devs will do actual actions only after they see their income drop by half…

Is sad to see this, at this point the marketplace is purely just to funel visits to Elements nothign more and they want to squize as much as possible fromthis shity move… personally I do not care anymore and I think most authors sotped caring a long time ago… I will focus on me and wopbay!

I already started uploading my items from Codencayon to wpbay!

with various price and plan tiers. And I will raise prices on Envato. Seems that all authors will do that according to the examples.
