Also, I am sure that most of these plugins have solid marketing from the authorās part, so they drive their own sales, probably.
Another notable thing is that if nowadays you have 8 sales per week for your product, you already make it to Envatoās best selling products pageā¦ Back in the days, you needed 25-30 weekly sales to appear on this page.
I would call it dead at this pointā¦

I am surprised that themes are still going relatively well (when compared to CodeCanyon): 2026's Best Selling Themes on ThemeForest
But the July 1st change will surely impact these numbers alsoā¦
Also, when you check, they lost momentum when compared to older days: 2024's Best Selling Themes on ThemeForest

Yes this seam better but far from what it was onceā¦ the trend is going down from what I seeā¦ I am surprised that Avada still goes with Envato considering allthings that happen most likely they have a special deal with them!

Counter-argument: Note that some plugin/theme sellers sell exclusively on Envato. So theyāre sending the traffic there, not the other way around.
For example, Woodmart theme - clicking buy on their site goes to Envato. I also see a āsponsored resultā in google from themeforest from them as well - I wouldnāt be surprised if itās actually Woodmart doing the ad rather than Envato?
Good point, I think thatās actually one of the biggest reasons ThemeForest is holding up better than CodeCanyon.
Avada, WoodMart, Betheme and a few other big ones can probably get through almost anything at this point, because theyāre brands built up and recognized on their own.
Elements banner just got bigger 
eventually the entire page will be just an Elements banner, congrats Envato, you are so cool!
It is not 2022 anymore when there was still hope for Envato, they can add all the banners they want now it will make no difference!

From july 1st, Envato marketplaces will probably become the best place for envato to squeeze authors for every last penny. the way things are going, it almost feels like theyāre pushing authors out themselves so it becomes easier to shut the marketplace down later.
Hope wpbay keeps growing and gets more authors on board. Maybe one day shutterstock will come knocking and ask the wpbay founders @CodeRevolution & @stefan_admin , āsoā¦ why not collaborate?ā. When wpbay becomes huge, donāt forget to appoint Hichame as ceo. Heās one of the very few ceos our @tibi_diablo is genuinely fond of

Wpbay will get there! I know it. Iāve believed in it since day one. Right now weāre going through hell, not just as a platform but across the entire IT industry. We need time, and we need to stay focused no matter how hard things get. In the end, it will pay off. As for the authors, I expect that most of the ones who are still active will eventually become part of Wpbay as well.
As for Envato, itās a truly sad story. We all loved it and buil dan amazing place, but ever since Hichame CEO took over, heās destroyed everything, Personally I donāt understand how he messed up so bad and he is continue to do it even though is clear at this point that is not workingā¦
I believe he bears the full responsibility for what happened. All he had to do was talk to us authors and actually listen to our requests. Instead, he made what I think were disastrous decisions with Elements and everything that followed, total silence, I will be sad when Envato will close but at the same time I wil lhave the satisfaction that this idiot destoryed what was almost impossibel to destroy, of course he will move on to the next company to f*it up as a rich man but in our eys he is the biggest loser ever at least in mine!

Maybe it would have been better if Hichame had studied physics. Hichame studied humanities, but somehow missed the humanity.
He cut around 100 employees just two years after becoming CEO, and now nearly 200 more. If they donāt show loyalty to the people who spent years helping build the company and knew personally, why should we expect them to care about us (authors).

Yeah, Hichame is a geniusā¦ I used to hate the guy, but I donāt anymore. Thatās how bad he was as a CEO.
The quote that comes to mind about his leadership is:
1 : āHe was such a bad CEO that if Envato had had no CEO at all, it probably would still be #1.ā
2 : āThe Envato marketplace thrived and crushed competition for years. What it couldnāt survive was Hichameās leadership.ā - I could do mime for this guy non stop
He literally managed to destroy something that was almost impossible to destroy and did it like a boss! But what do we know we are just some invisible non existent authorsā¦

I think itās time for envato authors to seriously consider taking legal action against envato. We should be asking for compensation for the losses weāve suffered.
But honestly i donāt think itāll happen because authors just donāt come together. Look at what happened. How many authors actually spoke up or took a stand?

Itās not even funny anymore. It feels like Russian propaganda. They keep saying theyāre winning the war, but they donāt even have any fuel left. 
What exactly does the Envato CEO hope to accomplish with this? Elements will probably die within 1ā2 years as well. The authors who built Envato are already gone.
Elements has been trash since day one. Itās basically just selling stock content, and personally, I can find most stock footage for free with very little effort. So whatās the point of paying for it?
You know that even now when is prety much dead if I would be CEO there I would brign it back to life in maximum one year, focus on the old model, add subscrition based model, doing what you guys did with wpbay, return to the author is acutally easy but what do I know!
I do expect at some point when Envato will be sold for 1mil that those who buy it to return tot he old model if they do not close it completely!
Be carful guys the Envato CEO might want to be part of wpbay in a few years when things are good, you have been warned!

Regarding legal action, I donāt think there is a chance to win there. Iām not a lawyer, of course, but Iām almost sure Envato covered themselves legally in the terms we all accepted over the years. So, no need to band up, as it would be in vain.
The real problem is not that they did something illegal, but that they destroyed the trust of the authors who built up the marketplace. And authors I spoke to, now are afraid of joining another marketplace, because they got burned onceā¦
This is a recurring theme I see, when I try to speak to authors from CC or TFā¦
My only option is to prove them wrong and to build something better here, together with those of you guys who stand by me and WPBay.
