Regarding legal action, I don’t think there is a chance to win there. I’m not a lawyer, of course, but I’m almost sure Envato covered themselves legally in the terms we all accepted over the years. So, no need to band up, as it would be in vain.

The real problem is not that they did something illegal, but that they destroyed the trust of the authors who built up the marketplace. And authors I spoke to, now are afraid of joining another marketplace, because they got burned once…

This was never a problem when Envato had a human CEO! In the beginning, Envato was exactly how WPBay is now—the owners were present, listened to authors’ concerns, and acted on their feedback and requests.

I’m still about 5k short of reaching Power Elite. It was some kind of glitch, I guess. Not that it really matters at this poin. I don’t expect the Envato Marketplaces to be around much longer.
