GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing

Well things will be more expensive from now one, it was to be expected, probably AI will be more expensive than hiring an actual developer…

All this AI s*it will throw the wolrd in the worst criss ever…

Yeah, this was coming sooner or later. Everything is getting more expensive in the western world. AI is also affected, because of limited chip availability and higher electricity costs.

Also, as usual, for the case of “free AI tools”, if the product is free, you are the product, your data is sold.

So is nto all sunshine and rainbows, imagine a company fully comitted to AI only to find out that their AI bill just doubled because they can…

This is all good but they are missing one point, mroe than 90% users are individual devs that might not have the founds to pay this, long story short this techonology is too expensive and it dose not really bring much on the table, but the exact oposite it disruptes everything it touhes…

This is full controll baby, they are heading in the right direction I guess for them

Many say that this whole thing feels a bit like pre-2008 vibes… I was too young back then to be interested in what was happening, but I heard stories from other people and they told me this. Let’s see how it plays out…

In 2008 suring the crisis and after, the Adobe Flash industry was booming. I was making more money than ever, but everything else was a disaster. Many of my friends back then had serious issues, although jobs weren’t widely lost there were mostly salary cuts. For me, it was actually a good time. Now things are different: IT is the most affected sector, and from what I’ve seen, the impact is starting to spread across all niches.

Yep, many start to feel the impact:

I wonder what kind of jobs are being lost though.

Is it devs? or is it more like office workers, billing support, operators etc?
