I plan to keep making predictions until we hear the announcement: “It’s been an incredible journey, but the marketplace is closing.”

Envato could have been stronger than ever in today’s AI-driven world, given its author-centric model. Instead, they bet everything on selling a billion files for $20—and lost.

Now that the forum is shutting down at Envato, the marketplace won’t be far behind. My guess is they’ll offload it for a few million dollars.

I’m furious about Envato’s recent decisions. It’s baffling how pure greed and mismanagement can dismantle a thriving business—especially when a CEO unfamiliar with the core product takes charge.

My prediction: the Envato marketplace will close in January–February 2026.

Well, the path is towards closing down the old marketplaces, or at least this is how ot seems to be. My estimate for closure of CC is 1 year from now, August 2026.
I am not sure if this closure will include also TF, but there are chances for this also.

First they will close less selling categories like apps , facebook etc.

Yes, this might be also the case, as it does not requires major announcements from their part.

Unfortunately the mismanagement and lack of interest has been obvious for years. Glad I moved away a few years back
