Will authors increase Envato themes and plugins prices after 1 July 2026?
With new 50% flat rate for elite authors a theme priced 50 dollars to keep the same profit should be priced 80 dollars.
But because Envato themes/plugins license is basically a lifetime license and a standard price for annual subscription these days supposed to be at least 50 dollars for a theme then
the Envato prices should even be higher. That is a strategy done with Aimogen plugin as I understood?
The problem is how the market will respond to the price changes.

There is no point , Envato si dead… I don’t even upload new products to it and focus on my website and WPbay… there is no future for Envato at this point, probably they will do some other shity decision a few months from now like we get 70% and you the author who matters not is like you don’t even exist 30%… or they will force the marketplace on Elements, or close completely…

I am not sure if the current market can absorb a huge price increase. I played with prices during my CodeCanyon “career” and when prices were increased, demand always decreased proportionally. So, if people add another 50$ to the price, they can expect also a much more than 50% drop in sale count (but yeah, numbers depend on each situation separately and perceived value of the product by clients).

I notice also that prices on Wpbay are kind of low for many products.

Prices shuld remain free for each user to set it as it wishes, this is a good thing, users will buy quality products if the price is the correct one!

Yep, prices are set by developers, probably they are lower, to try to bring in initial sales.
