I used to make last year with less prodcuts around 5k per month now I can barely make 300$, what is happening?
I know AI here and there but I donn’t believe is the direct issue with sales…

I don’t know about your product but it’s probably because you were getting your traffic from CC, which is pretty much dead now. Because that’s more than a 90% drop, I think it does not happen in 1 year just like that.
I am also feeling some very strong pressure in the last 2 months. Until including July everything was normal. But August and September have been very bad, September is almost a 50% drop in new customers vs. last year. But I’ve had other factors, domain name change, etc.
In any case, I’ve resigned myself to the idea that it’s probably just a matter of time until my skills are not that useful anymore. I expect to involuntarily retire in 5-10 years.
Offtopic, have you see the insane things people are building with Opus 5.5? (just search for opus 5.5 on X if not).
Yes I did but as I said before nothig is finished, is just wow but noting is usable, skill is still required and I don’t think this will change, I wrote about this before! Ai is nto the main reason of this drop and yes my main visits source is Envato…
We will see in the future what happens but now is a disaster and I don’t fully understand the reason.
I’m seeing the same trend… My Envato sales peaked around 2023 and have been dropping hard since then. 2026 is by far the worst year and the last few months are dead, 0, nada.
Envato/CodeCanyon traffic collapsing + Google/search changes + buyers moving toward SaaS and subscriptions + AI making people less willing to pay for smaller scripts/plugins because they think they can build something themselves.
But CC traffic drop is main culprit for me also.
I wsa thinking about this as well but I do not have small plugins, building sutff like I have will cost you a lot and a lot of time is not worth it… is best to pay for it and move on, I don’t th ink this is the main issue.
I think the bigger effect is psychological: AI makes more buyers believe they can build it themselves, even when realistically they probably couldn’t. That alone can reduce conversions. But in our case I still think the collapse in CodeCanyon traffic is doing much more damage than AI itself.
Something I have to keep reminding myself constantly as well: Traffic comes before Conversion…
