Welcome @tibi_diablo ! By the way, I’d love to hear some of your experiences and stories selling plugins as well here in the forums, I’m sure you have a lot
Oh yes, I have been selling plugins since 2004 when the internet speed was about 120kb/s on marketplaces that do not exist now like FlashComponents… I am old at this point but a senior developer who understands the client and what it needs.
I hope more good events from Envato will follow here where we will be safe and concentrate on work not stress about if the marketplace closes or who knows what else…
As you probably know I will upload all my plugins this fall on WPBay, I believe it is the perfect market made by developers for developers, not some crazy CEO and all he cares about are numbers at any cost.
Seeing what happened with Evanto is literally disgusting, I tried to speak about it and got my account suspended I guess this would make a good story
Wow @tibi_diablo , that would be a lot of fun to read about what it was like selling plugins on a 120kb/s connection
Also curious to hear your thoughts on how this entire space has evolved, were you on Envato since its very launch? If you have time, it would be nice if you opened a thread where you told us some of your stories and things you’ve seen.
For me, this project is a lot about fun and it’s been a dream of mine for a while - Szabi has helped make it a reality. I also miss the old-style forums and real discussions. On platforms like Envato or Reddit, there’s 0 soul left and I hate giving them any of my time or content.
You guys did a great job, this year we all need to quit exclusivity on Envato and upload here making it our primary market place… it will not be easy but this is a win 100%.
Personally, I want to escape the Envato grip, it is stressing me too much at this point, also the sales are really bad… is geting worse and worse…
Hello, colleagues!
Glad to become a part of this new community!
My Envato name is “fresh-look”, and my specialization is JavaScript plugins. So I hope to contribute to the “Scripts” section.
Many thanks to the creators of WPBay for the great work!
Alex
Welcome to JavaScript at WPBay. Initially, WPBay was just a WordPress marketplace, but after discussions with the team, they kindly added a JavaScript version as well. This is very important in my case, as all my WordPress plugins also have a JavaScript plugin version.
Thanks for the suggestion, @user2!
At the moment, adding After Effects templates isn’t on our immediate roadmap for WPBay, but we’ve noted this idea, and will think on it for upcoming ideas for WPBay or connected services. Stay tuned!
I appreciate your efforts to create new marketplace for
theme and plugin authors. For now I’m only your forum member and will continue to follow discussions here.
@rayoflightt - thank you for joining, looking forward to also approve your themes for sale on WPBay. @user2 - we do our best to make our primary objective the success of authors from WPBay. Like this, WPBay will also succeed, if authors will succeed.
I ama almost a power elite author I am missing about 20k not sure if I will get to full power elite considerin what is happening with Envato…
Consider seriousely WpBay, Envato will close soo anyway or they will force us all to join Elements or who knows waht stupid thing they came up with…
WpBay is exactly what we need, it will grow, ti will be difficult but Enavto will watch us with envy… I expect when they trully understand what they did to try to return to their roots but once somthing is broken is hard to put it togheter again.
How do you plan to promote this platform? I hope it will be successful – we will be happy to help – it’s also in our interest! As for Envato and Code Canyon, let them burn
@COCOS.CODES - looking forward to review and approve your work!
Promo is currently done with paid ads, but also trying to build up the useful content of the site, with articles, quality products, with social media sharing and also email list building.
I plan to create also tutorials and YouTube videos to promote WPBay.
Any ideas are welcome!
